The Sgt 2Step Foundation is a 501C3 non-profit organization dedicated to honoring Gold Star Families and fallen heroes through impactful programs.
From foster care to Gold Star Mom, Tracy “2Step” La Porte’s life has been marked by resilience and purpose. Her son, Sergeant Adam “2Step,” a proud U.S. Army infantryman, was serving on active duty when his life was tragically cut short — a moment that forever changed her family.
Out of that loss came a mission. Tracy founded the Sgt. 2Step Foundation to honor her son’s legacy and to serve those who sacrifice for our nation and communities. We work to ensure that families of the fallen, veterans, first responders, survivors, and youth are seen, supported, and empowered.
We believe in healing through unity, remembrance, and action — because “The Beat of the Brave Lives On.”

Why We Do It
When Adam was killed on active duty, it shattered more than one life. Survivors — especially siblings and children — are often overlooked, left without resources or recognition. Veterans and first responders continue to face challenges, while communities need strong examples of hope and resilience.
The Sgt. 2Step Foundation bridges those gaps. We carry forward the stories of the fallen, while also uplifting the living through programs that combine practical support, community events, and the healing power of music and storytelling.

MUSIC, HEALING AND REMEMBRANCE
We bring music through concerts and festivals. We collaborate with music artists of all genres to bring their talents to honor our Gold Star Families and fallen heroes nationally. In our concerts and festivals, survivors of the fallen, Gold Star Families and those in need are presented with tickets, scholarships and awards, so that we can help healing through music and remembrance. We also hold healing retreats and events to further and help advance musical inclinations
